So you want to take a felting class?
I, for one, highly recommend doing so! But not all classes are the same, and you can often find yourself in over your head and discouraged. And that is the last thing I want to happen! Let me tell you how my classes are different. After all, I’ve been named the Felting Facilitator by students because my goal in class is to make your learning experience relaxed and so much fun, that you become a Fearless Felter.
We go over the basics at the beginning of class: the tools you use, the basic process we will follow, your fibers, and you have plenty of opportunities to ask all the questions you need to ask. You will see my face on one of the screens, and my hands on another screen, as well as the others in class.
As we begin working on your project, I’ll ask you and the other students in class what you want to create during our session, and I’ll make note of your inspiration creature, or ask to see your photo so that I can provide you with individual instructions to help you see your creation come into being.
You will get to learn from the other students as well, even though we are having class through zoom. I’ll help you navigate zoom, answer questions as we work on your projects, and you’ll be able to see my hands working out the issue you asked me about.
I’ve built the classes so that we have plenty of time to work on your project. In fact, often I’m watching you work on your projects and filling in with information that may be helpful. Most students either complete their project during the allotted time or are nearly finished and fully prepared to complete their project on their own.
I’ll post class videos on my Anna Walker Designs Facebook page under the free group, “So, you bought a felting kit”, and encourage you and the other students to post your completed projects for the others to see.
After we’ve said goodbye on zoom, my hope is that you’ll continue to connect with me via the Facebook group, on Instagram, or via email. Or perhaps you’ll be so enamored of felting that you’ll join my felting membership, The FELTit Experience. In any event, you will have begun your felting journey, and I will be happy to have been part of the story!
